I am often in need of a snack. This past Sunday, I took my camera along with me and found that my pantry is sorely in need of decluttering.

First, I checked the fruit bowl. Looked good, but generally required too much work. No, no, I would save cutting up the pineapple for my morning self. She will really appreciate it.

Next, I checked the fridge. It was all leftovers. I wish I never had to see leftovers again, but they are part of my lunch plan. There is something to be said for a nice sandwich. Also, I am sick of yogurt.

Clearly, the Bud Light is not for me.

Finally, the pantry. What would it hold in store for me?

Ooh, forks. And mini toasts, granola, oatmeal, onions, polenta, random rice noodles – NOTHING that seemed snack-worthy.

Finally….

Jackpot! Microwave popcorn. Minimal work and not that terrible for me. Hub bought a huge package of popcorn from garden friend, who has a son in the Boy Scouts. However, Hub only eats popcorn made from scratch – although he does eat it pretty much every day.

This hit the spot, along with my soda alternative:

Highly recommended if your pregnancy inclination is to drink 15 root beers per day. This helps ward off those ridiculously unnecessary calories.

And on that note, I proceeded to do a quick, 5-minute purge of all the junk in my pantry, and plan some meals that revolved around the things that are still hanging around in there.

And YESSS…. just looking through these photos, I found the dog treats! Penny will be so happy.
